SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - As cold weather heads to the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, it’s time to make sure you and your homes are prepared for freezing temperatures.
It’s been several months since we’ve had to deal with freezing temperatures, and the time is now to make sure you’re prepared. As the temperature drops, the National Weather Service says it’s critical to protect the four P’s — people, pets, pipes and plants.
Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, try to minimize your time outdoors. Fortunately, most of us will be getting ready for bed or already sleeping. In case the power goes out during that time, you’ll want to have a few items on hand, like blankets and extra layers of clothing.
