NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Numerous flights into and out of Charleston International Airport were cancelled or delayed Monday amid reduced flight schedules impacting many airports.
Charleston International Airport warned travelers that the FAA had directed airlines to temporarily reduce flight schedules across 40 major U.S. airports due to the ongoing government shutdown.
While the Charleston Airport was not on the list of affected airports, there are many flights to destinations that were on the list, which airport officials warned could impact travel.
A check of the airport’s website around 6:40 a.m. Monday morning showed 10 cancelled arrivals and 13 cancelled departures, with several more flights listed as delayed.
