NEW DELHI: The IPL 2026 mini-auction is likely to happen in Abu Dhabi in the third week of December. It is reliably learnt that the Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI ) has identified the December 15-16 window to hold the event, and it will continue to be held overseas for the third year running. The last two IPL auctions were held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Dubai, respectively, and this year it will be Abu Dhabi's turn to host the franchises as they look to plug the holes ahead of the upcoming IPL season. There were discussions around holding an auction in India, but the trend of hosting it overseas will continue for now.
