Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin has revealed that Kristers Tobers ' season is all but over after he suffered a serious knee injury back in September.
The Latvia international, who has been ruled out since picking up the injury during a league defeat at Motherwell , will likely miss the remainder of the campaign.
Thelin previously stated that he was expected to be out long-term, but has now revealed he likely won't be fit to feature for the Dons until next season, writes Record Sport .
The manager said: "Tobers is going to be out for more or less the whole season."
He also dismissed talk that midfielder Sivert Nilsen could return to Norway in January, adding: "No, the media always speculates. There is nothing behind that."
