LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office received a report about a suspicious person on Clay Avenue, located 10 miles south of London, on Nov. 5.
The complaint stated that a man was walking through residential yards on Clay Avenue while swinging a burning stick.
When deputies arrived, they found Jeffery Thompson, 56, of Corbin, walking west with a partially burned stick.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that Thompson was under the influence of substances and had suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe.
He was charged with public intoxication (controlled substances), possession of a controlled substance (first degree - first offense - methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Thompson was subsequently taken to the Laurel County Correctional Cen
