As many as eight people were dead and several others were injured after an explosion was reported near Red Fort Metro Station. A high alert has been sounded in Delhi after the incident and around seven fire tenders have been pressed into action.
The blast reportedly took place in a car outside the Lal Quila metro station. The nature of the explosion is not known yet. Delhi Police has restricted Entry/exit of Gate no. 1 & 4 at Lal Qila Metro Station. However Metro services are running normal throughout the network, DMRC spokesperson said.
The video shows people running amok following the blast. Plumes of smoke and flames are seen emitting from the spot.
