PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. — Target has confirmed the retail giant is planning a return to a region of Arizona that the company left almost a decade ago.
In late 2015, Target announced it was closing its only location in the Casa Grande area. The decision was "not made lightly," a company spokesperson said at the time, but was made after careful consideration of the store in the Promenade at Casa Grande, located west of Interstate 10.
Residents of the community expressed shock and disappointment over losing such a well-known retailer in a city of about 50,000 residents, according to the Casa Grande Dispatch.
The Casa Grande store first opened in 2007 and was the only Target location in Pinal County.
A spokesperson for Target has recently told 12News that the company is planning a return
