Delhi witnessed one of its most serious security incidents in recent years on November 10, 2025 , when a powerful explosion near Gate No. 1 of Lal Qila (Red Fort) Metro Station killed eight people and injured over twenty others , including several in critical condition.

The blast, which occurred around 6:55 PM , tore through a parked car in the crowded Old Delhi area opposite the Red Fort. The explosion ignited three to four nearby vehicles , sending a massive fireball and smoke cloud into the air, visible from several parts of the city.
