Rapper Rod Wave was arrested on weapon and drug charges in Atlanta on the same day he picked up his first Grammy nomination, the artist's legal team said Sunday.
The platinum and gold record performer was booked under his legal name, Rodarius Marcell Green , on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm or knife, and reckless driving, Fulton County jail records showed.
He was arrested Friday and released Saturday.
The same day "Green earned a Grammy nomination, he was unjustly profiled and unlawfully arrested in Atlanta," according to a statement by defense attorneys Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg and Zack Findling.
