A man who was taken to the hospital after two boats collided into each other in Biscayne Bay died on Sunday, officials said.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, officers received reports of a crash involving a 34-foot Intrepid center console and a 34-foot Midnight Express that were traveling in Biscayne Bay.

FWC said that the operator of the Intrepid, 63-year-old Luis A. Suarez, was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

An investigation into the collision remains active.
