MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A chase with law enforcement left a Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) state trooper injured and caused another crash on a busy Memphis road.

A THP state trooper said he noticed a speeding white Nissan Maxima on I-40 around 8 p.m. on Sunday. When the trooper got close to the car, the driver sped away at over 100 miles per hour, according to the trooper.

The trooper hit his blue lights to pull the Nissan over, but the car continued to speed away, racing down I-40, "splitting lanes and reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour."

The driver, later identified as 22-year-old Justin Allen Richardson, led the trooper down Sam Cooper Boulevard before barreling down the Highland Street exit and then jumping back on Sam Cooper, driving head-on into traffic by going east in the westbound
