Jake Kidd scored a golden goal in the second minute of extra time as Wisconsin-Superior defeated rivals Bethany Lutheran 2-1 for the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference men’s soccer tournament championship, the Yellowjackets’ ninth in a row.

UWS, which ran undefeated through the conference in the regular season and defeated Bethany twice, struggled to generate offense in the early going, failing to record a shot attempt until six minutes into the second half and hitting posts twice before their first shot on target in the 66th minute.

A few minutes after that Juan Campos gave the visitors the lead in the 71st minute, but UWS maintained its composure and found an equalizer less than five minutes later, when Seth Davidson headed in a cross from Harvey McLaughlin and made it 1-1 in the 75th.
