SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is advising parents to stop using recalled ByHeart powdered infant formula due to potential botulism risk.
The advisory follows reports of two Illinois infants showing symptoms consistent with botulism after consuming the formula.
On November 8, 2025, ByHeart Inc. recalled two lots of Whole Nutrition Infant Formula. The affected lots are 206VABP/251261P2 and 206VABP/251131P2, both with a "Use by 01 Dec 2026" date.
IDPH said there are other lots of ByHeart formula are under investigation, but the recall is not expected to cause a shortage since the brand makes up only 1% of the market.
