Alabama basketball ’s upending of a Top-10 St. John’s team gave the Crimson Tide a boost in the Coaches Poll .

Nate Oats took the No. 16-ranked squad in the nation to New York over the weekend. But after the 103-96 win at Madison Square Garden, coaches decided Alabama is No. 9 as of Monday, Nov. 10.

The Red Storm dropped to No. 13 with the loss to the Crimson Tide, which will face top-ranked Purdue on Thursday, Nov. 13, in Coleman Coliseum.
