AUBURN — An undefeated start didn't translate into an ascension in the national rankings for Auburn basketball , which fell in both the USA TODAY Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 Poll on Monday, Nov. 10.
The Tigers slid three spots in the Coaches Poll, from No. 22 to No. 25, and they slid two spots in the AP's listing, going from No. 20 to No. 22.
That comes after an undefeated start, however, one of those victories was an overtime scare, in which Auburn hung on to beat mid-major Bethune-Cookman 95-90 in its season-opener. It beat Merrimack 95-57, but the coming week will provide the first of several tough tests, when the Tigers head to Birmingham to play No. 2 Houston on Sunday, Nov. 16.
