LANDOVER, Md. -- Dan Campbell pulled off a gutsy mid-season move, replacing offensive coordinator John Morton to call the plays for the first time since 2021 against the Washington Commanders.
And after a couple of ho-hum, uninspiring outings on offense, the Detroit Lions exploded in a 44-22 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
Campbell said he made the decision the day after the loss to the Minnesota Vikings last week. And while Morton surely isn’t thrilled about the move, the Lions coach credited him for being an absolute pro and “all about the team” with the shift.
