GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay Phoenix men’s basketball team earned its first win of the season in convincing fashion, using a strong second half to defeat Ripon College 83-63 on Sunday at the Resch Center.
After a tightly contested first half that saw the Phoenix take a 38-35 lead into the break, Green Bay found its rhythm in the second half, outscoring the Red Hawks 45-28 to pull away for the 20-point victory.
Marcus Hall powered the Phoenix with a double-double, posting 21 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists in an all-around performance. Maruan Cicic added 10 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting day, while Mac Wrecke and C.J. O’Hara also contributed on both ends. In total, 11 different players found the scoring column, showing the team’s depth and balance.
