A Toronto masseur has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, York Regional Police say.

In a news release Monday, police said the 49-year-old man allegedly touched the victim for a sexual purpose after a massage at his residence on Aug. 12.

The victim then attended a swim club in Markham on Sept. 1, where she allegedly met with the suspect. York police say the victim was pulled towards him and touched for a sexual purpose while they spoke.

The victim contacted police on Sept. 6. Upon investigation, police said they found the man was not a registered massage therapist.

In Monday’s news release, York Regional Police described a sexual assault as “any non-consensual contact of sexual nature.”
