Ahmedabad-based textile maker Arvind Ltd is focusing on improving efficiency and pushing volumes to counter the impact of global tariffs, according to Vice Chairman Punit Lalbhai.
“It is a very challenging market currently because most of the tariffs have now kicked in,” Lalbhai said. “However, the mitigating factor has been a very strong push on cost and efficiency, which has sort of offset the tariffs. In lieu of discounts, we have shot up volumes with our customers.”
Lalbhai said the company is facing some margin pressure but expects to make up for it through operational gains and stronger order flow. “We expect that we will be able to make up, in terms of efficiency, what we lose in terms of realisation,” he noted, adding that the second half of the year is usually stronger, with a
