PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A high school student has been charged after another student was hit by her car in the parking lot of North Pitt High School last month.

The Highway Patrol says Amiya Taylor, of Greenville, has been charged with careless and reckless driving.

Troopers say the 17-year-old Taylor was going too fast for a parking lot when the crash happened.

The crash took place as students were being dismissed on October 23rd.

The girl who was hit has recovered after being treated at ECU Health Medical Center, according to the Highway Patrol.
