Mandan, ND (KXNET) — Terry Steinwand, the former director of the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, was arrested in early September and charged with gross sexual imposition-sexual act-victim under 15-defendant at least 22.
Steinwand waived his preliminary hearing in Morton County on Monday and pleaded not guilty. His next court date is scheduled for February 13.
Steinwand also had the conditions for his bond updated; he was able to bond out with 10% of his $50,000 bond, paying $5,000.
He faces up to life in prison if convicted. So far, his trial is scheduled for February 2026.
