WASHINGTON — The cause of death has been released for founding KISS guitarist Ace Frehley , according to multiple media reports.

Frehley died from blunt trauma injuries to his head caused by a fall, the Morris County Medical Examiner confirmed in a report obtained by People and TMZ .

The manner of death was ruled an accident. He was 74.

His family shared that he passed away “peacefully surrounded by family in Morristown, New Jersey” on Oct. 16.

“We are completely devastated and heartbroken. In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth," his family posted online at the time.
