New Delhi [India], November 10 (ANI): Uttarakhand is on high alert following a blast in Delhi, and security is being beefed up.

ADG (Law and Order) V Murugeshan told ANI that an alert has been issued across the state following a blast near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday evening. "Superintendents of Police in all thirteen districts have been instructed to maintain heightened vigilance in their respective areas," he said.

The explosion left eight people dead and seven injured, three of them seriously, before reaching Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital, a senior hospital official told ANI.
