From the Upstate through the Lowcountry, much of South Carolina is expected to see freezing temperatures overnight Nov. 10 from “an abnormally cold airmass,” the National Weather Service reports .

Temperatures from Charleston to Hilton Head Island could drop to 32 degrees, down significantly from highs in the 70s over the weekend.

A freeze warning will be in effect from 9 p.m. Nov. 10 to 9 a.m. Nov. 11. Forecasters said a widespread killing freeze is likely for plants, so bring them inside or cover them overnight.

“A widespread freeze is forecast tonight as temperatures plummet into the low 20s inland, with freezing temperatures possibly extending all the way to the beaches,” the NWS forecast states . “A Freeze Warning is in effect for the entire forecast area overnight tonight into
