Corunna’s John McLaughlin won gold with Canada Red at the U17 World Challenge Saturday in Truro, N.S.
The Windsor Spitfires forward had two assists in a 6-3 win over Canada White in the tournament final.
Sarnia Sting forward Brenner Lammens had one assist for Canada White. Sting defenceman Kaden Aucoin, Sting general manager Dylan Seca and Sarnia’s Matt Henderson, of the Kingston Frontenacs, also were on the silver medallists.
The United States beat Czechia 3-1 for bronze.
On Friday, Henderson had a goal and two assists in Canada White’s 8-7 overtime win against the U.S. in a semifinal. Lammens forced OT by scoring with 3:06 left in regulation and also had one assist.
Canada Red beat Czechia 4-1 in the other semifinal.
