After a morning low of 28 degrees in Paducah, an even colder night lies ahead before highs in the 70s return this weekend.
Monday's high reached only 39 degrees at Barkley Field, and an overnight low is forecast to be 23 with wind chills in the teens.
Tuesday's Veterans Day will recover to a gusty 51. Winds will calm by Wednesday morning and temps will stay above freezing.
Thursday bounces back to 65, and highs soar to the 70s for the rest of the weekend.
A chance of showers returns Saturday night.
