It is highly unlikely transgender women will be allowed to compete at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, according to a report.
The ban on transgender women competitors is expected, according to Daily Mail Sports , but it’s not yet known if athletes with differences of sexual development (DSD) will also be shut out of the major event.
A policy shift?
The International Olympic Committee (IOC), run by new president Kirsty Coventry , is in discussions about a policy shift that would impose a ban across all sports for transgender women at the Los Angeles games.
The current rules permit each specific sport to make the call, basing it on whether transgender women’s testosterone levels fall below a designated threshold.
