ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- While an end to the federal government shutdown could be in sight, some state attorneys general, including New York’s Letitia James, are continuing the legal fight to ensure those who rely on SNAP benefits receive food assistance.
A federal judge sided in their favor by temporarily blocking a U.S. Department of Agriculture memo that said “…states must immediately undo any steps taken to issue full SNAP benefits for November 2025.”

But the legal battle isn’t over yet.
"Later on this afternoon, we will be in court to continue this fight," said Letita James, New York's Attorney General during a virtual press conference.
