(WKYT) - The case involving a former Rowan County clerk has come to an end.

Monday, the Supreme Court of the United States decided not to review Kim Davis’s appeal. She took the case to the higher courts after being ordered to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages for refusing to sign a same-sex marriage license in 2015.

“The attorney representing the couple in this case says he’s not at all surprised that the supreme court turned it away, after just making gay marriage legal in every state 10 years ago,” said Madison Porter.
