Police are investigating after a person was found dead following a reported gunshot Monday afternoon at a southwest Lubbock home.

The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit remained on scene shortly before 4 p.m. in the 9000 block of Juneau Avenue for a death investigation, according to a news release.

LPD officers were initially called to the scene at 1:12 p.m. for a report of gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers located an individual who was pronounced dead.

Other information, including about the victim and the circumstances of the shooting, were not immediately clear as the investigation is ongoing.
