A wife of a man who suffered 'life-changing' injuries after a trip to the shop descended into horror has issued an update.

Lewis Rimmer, 42, had taken time off work on the afternoon of October 27 to spend time with his family to celebrate his daughter's birthday.

Just before 1pm, he visited the Sainsbury's Local on Darwen Road in Bromley Cross, Bolton , to buy a lottery ticket. Lewis was in the car park of the Sainsbury's when he was struck by a Range Rover which later ploughed into the building.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, rushed to the scene following the horrific crash and Lewis was airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital.
