Three teens were killed in a crash on Sunday in Apopka, and three others were injured after the vehicle went off the road and hit a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Residents in the area tell WESH 2 that many street lights on that road are not working. A spokesperson from Duke Energy confirmed that lights have been out amid a lighting improvement project, saying:
"We were aware the streetlights were out as part of an ongoing construction project in the area. This is different than when a streetlight requires regular maintenance, such a new light bulb. We hope to have the streetlights restored by the end of the week."
