DAVIS, Calif. —

Declining enrollment has Davis Joint Unified School District (DJUSD) taking a hard look at its school configuration over the next 10 years.

The district is engaging with the community in an effort to gather input on how best to cope with the challenge of a projected decline of 1,000 over the next decade.

A third of three community meetings to address the issue and outline plans for possible school closures or a district-wide redesign is scheduled for Thursday at Da Vinci High School.

According to DJUSD its enrollment hinges on the outcome of two proposed large-scale housing developments that will be decided upon by Davis voters sometime within 2026.
