LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Lansing Schools Superintendent Ben Shuldiner is saying farewell as he prepares to head for the Pacific Northwest.
Shuldiner will soon take over as superintendent of Seattle Public Schools.
The departure means big changes for people in the Lansing school community.
Shuldiner’s Seattle contract is being negotiated, giving him roughly three months to tie up any loose ends in Lansing.
He said he leaves with both a heavy heart and confidence that Lansing has been set up for success.
“Creating Lansing Tech, having a high school that’s devoted to CTE, raising the graduation rate by 26 points, the attendance rate by 15 points,” Shuldiner said, describing what he considers the high points of his career at the Lansing School District.
