FULTON COUNTY ( 25News Now ) - A four-year-old and his grandmother were identified after a fatal fire in rural Fulton County late Sunday morning.

Fulton County Coroner Austin Rhodes said four-year-old Sawyer M. Brooks-Kirkpatrick and 69-year-old Margaret Brooks, both of Cuba, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Forensic autopsies were completed earlier Monday in Peoria County.

The cause and manner of death is being investigated by the coroner’s office. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The Cuba Fire Department, Fulton County EMA, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, and other first responders, were called around 11:20 a.m. Sunday to a home in the 23000 block of North Cherokee Road, in Cuba, for a fully involved structure fire with
