EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Winter weather can lead to an increase in road accidents, and the Indiana State Police have shared some tips to help keep drivers safe.
Residents across the Tri-State woke up to cold temperatures, snow, and slick roads. Despite the weather, people still need to get out and about.
Sgt. Todd Ringle from the Indiana State Police emphasized the importance of being prepared.
"You want to make sure you have enough supplies inside your vehicle to keep your family safe and warm for an extended period of time. This morning was a great reminder, we had people out on I-64 in these frigid temperatures for over two hours," Ringle said. "They weren't going to go anywhere. So again, you want to make sure you have those winter survival kits inside your vehicle."
