GRAMBLING, La. (KTVE/KARD) -- The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) has announced suspensions and fines after the halftime altercation between Bethune-Cookman University and Grambling State University football teams on Saturday, Nov. 8.

According to the SWAC, after investigating, it was determined that BCU and GSU violated the league's code of ethics/conduct by committing acts of unsportsmanlike conduct.

The SWAC confirmed 27 student-athletes, including 9 from BCU and 18 from GSU, have been suspended following the altercation. According to SWAC officials, out of those 27 suspensions, 3 student-athletes have been given a two-game suspension due to their actions.
