BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A case of measles has been confirmed in Louisiana.
The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) said an adult contracted the disease through international travel.
According to LDH, a public exposure occurred at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
Specifically, the exposure took place between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, in Concourse B beyond the security checkpoint.
The patient lives in Region 9, which consists of five parishes, including Livingston, St. Helena, Washington, Tangipahoa, and St. Tammany.
LDH said the individual did not require a trip to the hospital and will remain in isolation until they are no longer infectious.
