A refinancing deal meant to resolve a foreclosure lawsuit against more than 200 units at the Madison Heights apartment complex is still being worked out, according to Nadine Jarmon, the head of the Little Rock housing authority.

The two prospective lenders, Southern Bancorp and the Enterprise Community Loan Fund, are talking directly with the current lender as they negotiate the payoff, Jarmon said.

She said she was encouraged that the parties were "still hammering away at it, and haven't said no."

Jarmon also believed it to be a positive indicator that a Nov. 1 deadline for the housing authority to work out financing or otherwise consent to foreclosure had passed without action by the current lender.
