CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - On Monday, West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced another $2 million donation to state food banks, bringing the state’s total donations to $13.1 million since Nov. 1.
Morrisey said he believes that will put food banks in a good place until next Monday.
“We believe, from the conversations with the food banks, that we’re in a good position until at least November 17th,” Morrisey said in a press conference Monday. “That’s what I’ve been told, [what] I’ve been briefed on.”
Sunday night, the U.S. Senate took a step toward ending the shutdown. The deal now has to pass another Senate vote, and then pass through the House.
