BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Rural health initiatives are now eligible for new grants.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota is offering funding for community-driven health projects. They could include a veteran peer support program or provide help to students and their families.
The grants range from $5,000 to $7,500.
“We really just want to recognize those rural communities, because they really do face unique healthcare barriers, and these grants are really helping to strengthen local efforts to improve access and opportunity and overall just well-being in underserved areas,” said Executive Director Amber Blomberg, with BCBS ND Caring Foundation.
Previous grants have helped build handicap accessible gardens for nursing home residents and provided equipment to help patients reach medical
