MANSFIELD, La. – Former District Attorney Gary Evans has settled two lawsuits filed by the DeSoto Clerk of Court’s Office.

Evans, represented in DeSoto District Court last week by his brother, attorney John Evans, agreed to pay $1,803 plus court costs and fees.

Clerk of Court Lisa Lobrano Burson waived the clerk’s fees.

Burson sued Gary Evans, alleging he owed $2,395 in court costs connected to two lawsuits – one of which he was a defendant and the other that he filed against the current district attorney, who at the time was a district court judge.
