The Miami Hurricanes are hitting a late stride on the recruiting trail, landing their second blue-chip prospect in as many days .
Four-star 2026 defensive lineman DeAnthony Lafayette committed to Miami on Monday evening, announcing his commitment on social media.
Lafayette, who chose the Hurricanes over offers from Florida State and Oklahoma, among others. He was previously committed to LSU.
Lafayette, an Orlando native, is listed as the No. 36 edge rusher and No. 391 player in the class. Last season, the standout edge rusher had 73 tackles and 17.5 sacks. The Lake Nona High star has 58 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks this season.
Lafayette, a 2024 Orlando Sentinel All-Area first-team pick, is listed at 6 foot 1 and 230 pounds. He has a 6-foot-8 wingspan, according to a
