TOWSON, Md. —
Senators have reached a tentative agreement to reopen the government after eight Democrats voted to advance the re-drafted Republican spending package.
The updated bill includes a reversal of the mass reductions in force , as well as the promise of a Senate vote on extending health care tax credits in early December.
Maryland Rep. Andy Harris, R-District 1, said he's eager to get the bill passed and the government reopened.
Team Maryland Democrats are disappointed, though. Both Maryland senators voted no on the bill Sunday night because it did nothing to address health care costs, they told WBAL-TV 11 News.
"I will say, just without any sugarcoating it and as I head down to the Capitol, I am very disappointed," said U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Maryland.
