PARADISE, Calif. - The town of Paradise celebrated its community's resilience on the anniversary of the devastating Camp Fire with the return of the 5th annual Phoenix Run on Saturday. This year marked a special expansion from a 5K to include a 10K.

Aaron Singer, the executive director of Paradise Stronger and event coordinator, explained the significance of the name of the event.

"The reason we chose the Phoenix is because it’s rising from the ashes, and as Paradise rebuilds, it is our hope that this is a commemorative event that reminds people of our resiliency, our ability to rise from the ashes of what happened in the Camp Fire," Singer said.
