LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - LAREDO — A truck struck an electrical pole Monday evening, causing a fire and leaving more than 2,000 customers without power.

The incident happened just before 6 p.m. near Fenwick and Bartlett when a brick and tile truck hit an electrical pole and broke it, according to a witness at the scene.

AEP Texas reported over 2,000 customer outages following the incident. According to the AEP website power is expected to be restored before midnight.
