SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A Springfield man arrested after allegedly hitting a woman with a gun while in the backseat of her car early Monday morning.

The victim told police she saw a stranger in the backseat of her car around 1:40 a.m. on Massachusetts Avenue.

Police say when they arrived at the station, the suspect began kicking and head-butting the officers.

26-year-old Daivon Ferguson of Springfield is now facing several assault and gun charges.
