Geelong midfielder Tanner Bruhn has had sexual assault charges against him sensationally dropped after a key witness admitted to lying.
Bruhn was charged earlier this year in relation to an alleged incident in February 2023.
He spent the entire 2025 AFL season on the sidelines, but a suppression order was in place that prevented his name from being publicly revealed.
The suppression order was lifted was on Tuesday when the case was dropped.
Dermot Dann, KC, for Bruhn, described the case as “a horrible stain” in court.
“When it came to these allegations ... the complainant admitted she had lied,” he said.
“It was a case where Mr Bruhn’s liberty has been put in jeopardy, his career put in jeopardy. He’s been to hell and back.
