COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Changes to Coeur d’Alene Public Schools' harassment and bullying policy are being introduced to the school board on Monday night.

Incidents like a man allegedly harassing the Utah women's basketball team while they were staying in Coeur d'Alene last year for the March Madness tournament prompted the changes.

The school district says it formed a task force to revamp its bullying and harassment policy to clarify expectations, emphasize restorative practices and ensure accountability.

While city leaders at the time of the 2024 March Madness incident called for accountability, Coeur d’Alene Public Schools began taking its own steps to ensure a welcoming and safe district.
