Man sets bike on fire after failing to pledge it

A28-year-old courier worker set his brand-new bike on fire after failing to pledge it to raise money for his parents’ medical treatment. The incident occurred around 9.30 pm on Sunday night, under Basaveshwaranagar Police Station limits.

The man, identified as Yeshwanth, a native of Thippur village, Tumakuru district, had purchased the motorcycle but was unable to pledge it as it was still under loan. Police said he had been under severe stress due to his father’s worsening health; his father is a heart patient and urgently needed medical funds.
